Constantia Glen wine estate is located at the western end of the Constantia Valley, which is part of Cape Town. Constantia is the smallest wine-producing region in South Africa, but it boasts the longest tradition: exceptional wine has been crafted in Constantia since 1685. Even Napoleon declared Vin de Constance as his favorite wine. Thanks to its proximity to the cool Atlantic Ocean, Constantia Glen enjoys a very temperate climate, allowing for slow grape ripening and a high concentration of flavors. Constantia Glen has been owned by the Waibel family, originally from Dornbirn, Austria, since the mid-20th century and is now managed by the third generation. Therefore, the strict limitation of production and the avoidance of artificial irrigation are as natural as the very sparing use of machinery. Constantia Glen wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate and the entire winemaking and bottling process takes place on-site.
