    Vintage Description:

    Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Fine herbal spice, fine yellow tropical fruit, mango and papaya, delicate blossom honey, a hint of biscuit. Powerful, ripe stone fruit, nutty-spicy nuances, discreet sweetness in the finish, nougat in the aftertaste, woody aromas in the finish. (Falstaff Tasting, July 2021)

    vineyard:

    Single vineyard Ried Schüttenberg near Göttelsbrunn. With an altitude of 278 meters, the Schüttenberg is the highest point in the Arbesthal hills, with a southern and western exposure. The Chardonnay vines grow on 1.2 ha in the cooler western part, bordered by the forest. The dry Pannonian climate is here positively influenced by the nearby Neusiedlersee and the cool winds from the Danube floodplains.

    Loamy soils with calcareous Danube gravel.

    Ernte:

    Selective hand-picking in September 2020.

    Vinification:

    36 hours of maceration on the skins, minimal sulphurization, spontaneous fermentation in 600 liter wooden barrels.

    Ageing:

    Maturated 12 months on the lees in a 600 liter wooden barrel made of French oak.

    Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
