In the heart of Libourne lies the uniqueness of the Château Quinault L'Enclos, a town vineyard whose origins go back to the Gallo-Roman era. The grape variety is typical and typical of the right bank of the Garonne: Merlot dominates (83%), Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) complete the grape variety. The average age of the vineyard is 45 years and the oldest vines date back to 1934. These ancient vines make up a very interesting genetic heritage. They make it possible to obtain complex grapes simultaneously with measured yields. Great care is taken in the management of the vineyard. Manual harvesting respects a strict plot picking protocol that is worthy of the earliest classified growths. The team of Cheval Blanc, led by Pierre Lurton, surrounds the winery with the utmost care. She undertook a biological approach to the entire area, which she considers a pure jewel among the great wines of Saint-Emilion. In 2009, for example, she initiated the conversion of the vineyard to organic farming with certification as the key since 2012.
