Directed by owner Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard and her husband Gaston, Michel Rolland has been involved with cellar technology since 1997, and the estate has become an insider tip within a year. Château Clos l'Eglise is located in the Pomerol appellation. The prevalent iron-rich soil is interspersed with clay and gravel and gives the wines the specific character and typicality of the appellation Pomerol. The 6 hectares of vines are 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the vines grown here is 35 years. Château Clos l'Eglise relies on traditional cultivation methods, so each vineyard is individually vinified. This produces medium-heavy, but very elegant, long and finesse Pomerol wines.
