Goldmuskateller

Moscato Giallo

Details

Moscato Giallo, also called Goldmuskateller, is an indigenous Italian white grape variety and part of the great family of Muscat grape varieties. It originated from a natural cross between Yellow Muscat and an unknown variety. Predominantly cultivated in Northern Italy, especially in South Tyrol and Trentino, the variety is also gaining popularity in Austria. The loosely clustered grapes ripen late and are distinguished by their striking golden-yellow color and very characteristic round shape. Their thin skin and high sugar content make them an ideal variety for producing both dry and sweet wines. The most suitable areas for cultivation are warm, frost-free locations with calcareous soils. Wines made from Moscato Giallo combine a refreshing acidic structure with fruity-sweet to fragrant-floral aromas, where the characteristic Muscat note is always present.
