Despite many honours and awards, Paul Lehrner’s vineyard still has the image to be an inside tip. But every year, a large number of wine connoisseurs make sure that the Lehrner production rather quickly finds its way to wine connoisseurs' homes. This comes as no surprise, for not only do Lehrner’s wines stand out because of their high quality and their characteristic style given to them by the wine-grower, but also are they great value for money. Together with his wife Gerti, roguish Mr. Lehrner operates a vineyard of 20 hectares, where the Blaufränkisch is the dominant variety, of course. But also the Burgunder varieties, the Pinot Noir, and the St. Laurent, convince with a precise and distinct flavour. Besides, Paul Lehrner is a master of harmony: there are only few people that equal his expertise in balancing fruit, alcohol, tannin and acidity in the best possible way, thus creating wines that not only show character and sophistication, but are simply a great pleasure to drink.
