Weingut Anita & Hans Nittnaus

As residents of Burgenland in the far east of Austria and winemakers in Gols, the Nittnaus family finds themselves in a fortunate position. The Pannonian climate of Lake Neusiedl is not only soothing and delightful for living, but also perfectly suited for viticulture. The same applies to the diverse soils, which compel the winery to produce wines of the highest quality. All vineyards have been consistently converted to biodynamic farming practices, and since the 2013 vintage, all wines are produced biodynamically. Furthermore, Gols, where the family has been producing wine since 1684, is situated slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This allows the Nittnaus family to find peace and patience to focus on what truly matters. The winery is also in the process of handing over the reins to the sons, Andi and Martin. An exciting duo: two brothers who couldn't be more different but complement each other perfectly. Andi possesses excellent craftsmanship, is calm and composed, while Martin is extroverted, creative, and full of energy. Like their father, they view wine as a food product and strive towards a natural end product.
