At the foot of the Gaisberg mountain in the southern Kamptal, lies the picturesque village of Straß im Straßertale, home to the Topf family's traditional winery. Here, where knowledge and passion have been passed down consistently over five generations since 1885, wines with a unique signature are created. Preserving tradition, passing on the skilled craft, and taking great care in the vineyards are part of the daily routine. Together with his sons, Hans Topf vinifies single-vineyard and sparkling wines and brings them to market with optimum maturity. The brothers Hans-Peter and Maximilian work in harmony with nature and complement their father's portfolio with their own single-vineyard wines. The great potential and pride of the winegrowing family is based on the Erste Lage single vineyard sites, Offenberg, Gaisberg, Wechselberg Spiegel, and Heiligenstein. Conglomerates of mica schist, paragneiss, and arkoses as well as the influence of different microclimates are responsible for the uniqueness and distinctiveness of these sites.
