Is it possible to plan wines? No. Creating a great wine is mainly determined by intangible and inexplicable factors. This insight has fascinated me right from the start. It is decisions from within that lead to success: spontaneity, pleasure in experimenting, curiosity, talent. I need not mention at this point how essential the work in vineyards and cellar is in this context. Everybody who knows our wines is aware that we pay respect not only to the finer nuances, but also to honest craftsmanship. Without intensive and hard work it is impossible to create the basis for perfectly shaping the living beverage that is wine. Viticulture has always been and always will be an adventure full of vagaries, surprises and changed schedules. Not a walk in the park, but a wonderful journey.
