Designation (colloquially dessert wine) for an alcohol-enriched product obtained from partially fermented grape must, wine, a mixture of these two, grape must or a mixture of grape must and wine. Neutral alcohol from products of the vine with at least 96% vol. or various products from wine (brandy, grape marc brandy etc.) with at least 52% vol. and a maximum of 86% vol. may be used for spriting. After that, the liqueur wine must have an alcohol content of at least 15% to a maximum of 22% vol. In Spain, these products are called Generoso with, for example, Malaga and Sherry, in Portugal Licoroso with, for example, Madeira and Port, in Italy Liquoroso with, for example, Marsala and Vin Santo and in France Vin de liqueur with, for example, Lillet. Liqueur is a spirit made from flavoured alcohol with an alcohol content of up to 40%.
