Franz Pirker worked in management for many years, but his desire for change grew stronger with each passing year. Finally, the moment came when he turned his passion into his profession. Together with his long-time friend Helmut Preisinger, he founded the AMSEE winery in the summer of 2012. The name AMSEE originates from a vineyard in Gols that stretches all the way to Lake Neusiedl. The logo underlines Franz Pirker and Helmut Preisinger's enthusiasm for sailing. AMSEE produces single-varietal wines with characteristic fruitiness. Only selected sites with the appropriate grape varieties are chosen, as these must harmonise in order to achieve the desired characteristics. The sites and reduced yields form the basis for the quality of AMSEE wines. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. The utmost care is taken during processing. Depending on the variety, the maceration times and the use of complex cooling methods are adjusted before the fermentation process. During storage, wood or barrique is only used where it has a supportive effect. The fruit and the typical taste of the variety are always in the foreground.
