Libertà is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah. This wine expresses great balance between the soft tannins of Merlot, the aromatic complexity of Cabernet Franc and elegant spicy Syrah. The name Libertà derives from a gift that the city of Florence made to eight Florentine families including the then owners of Collazzi who fought valorously to free the city.

    Vintage Description:

    With the 2008 harvest, "Libertà", Collazzi's second wine, was also produced. Libertà is a persuasive red, with grapes harvested from the youngest vineyards that embrace the splendid estate. The words "Freedom" were inserted in 1376 in the coat of arms of the family that owned Collazzi at the time, for having fought valiantly for the freedom of the city of Florence from the invader.

    Vineyards belonging to the property of Collazzi, located in the southwestern part of the municipality of Impruneta (Florence), near the village of Galluzzo. A part of the property lies in a natural amphitheater, with a perfect South-West exposure.

    Vinification:

    Each parcel and variety has been vinified separately, and the grapes accurately selected on a sorting table. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature of about 25 °C, Malolactic fermentation conducted in stainless steel.
